The maca root is native to Peru, specifically to the Peruvian Andes. It was discovered 2000 years ago and has been used ever since as a food by native Andean people due to its extraordinary nutritional value. This plant is also known as “Peruvian Ginseng” because of its fertility-enhancing and energy booster properties. Nowadays, maca is commonly found as a dried fine powder and it is used as a supplement.
